About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Journal of Engineering Systems and Innovation (JESAI) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes original research articles focusing on the development, analysis, design, optimization, integration, and innovation of engineering systems. The journal aims to serve as a platform for disseminating research that drives innovative, sustainable, and technology-based engineering solutions to address challenges in industry, infrastructure, energy, and digital transformation.

JESAI prioritizes research that integrates multiple engineering disciplines through a systems-based approach, the application of digital technology, computational methods, artificial intelligence, and engineering innovation to produce effective and sustainable solutions.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to:

1. Engineering Systems Design

Research on the design, development, analysis, and optimization of engineering systems across various technical fields, including machine and product design, mechanical systems, electrical systems, manufacturing systems, transportation systems, energy systems, and materials engineering. Submissions in this area are expected to address the integration between components within a system, rather than treating a single component in isolation.

2. Intelligent Engineering Systems

Research on the application of intelligent technologies in engineering systems, such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, the Internet of Things (IoT), intelligent control systems, embedded systems, robotics, computer vision, condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, decision support systems, and industrial automation.

3. Sustainable Energy and Manufacturing Systems

Research on energy conversion systems, renewable energy, energy efficiency, low-emission technologies, thermal and fluid systems, smart manufacturing, manufacturing processes, materials technology in the context of system-level applications, circular economy, production process optimization, and the development of sustainable manufacturing systems.

4. Infrastructure and Built Environment Systems

Research on infrastructure and built environment systems, including structural engineering, construction materials, pavement engineering, transportation systems, structural health monitoring, and smart infrastructure, sustainable development, and the application of digital technology in infrastructure management. Submissions are expected to demonstrate how these components interact within a larger infrastructure system, rather than addressing a single component in isolation.

5. Computational Engineering Systems

Research on modeling, simulation, numerical analysis, optimization, scientific computing, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), engineering data analytics, data-driven modeling, digital engineering, digital twins, and the use of computation to support decision-making in engineering systems.

6. Engineering Innovation and Digital Transformation

Research on engineering technology innovation, digital transformation in the industrial sector, the implementation of Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0, Cyber-Physical Systems, the integration of digital technology in engineering systems, sustainable engineering, innovation management, and the development of technological solutions to improve the efficiency, productivity, and sustainability of engineering systems.
